Liquid Waterproofing Membrane

More people use the liquid waterproofing membranes in their homes than any other type and they're the least expensive as well. They're much easier to put on than an emulsion membrane and your wall will have a smooth finish. They don’t get dry no matter how hot it gets. When you have walls with a curve to them or nooks that are hard to get into, liquid waterproof membrane is the best choice. Liquid membranes cover more area with less product. The liquid waterproofing membrane is the best way to prevent water from getting in your home. You can put it on a new or existing concrete surface.


Elastomeric Polymerized Membranes

This type of basement waterproofing membrane is the newest development in the industry and is extremely durable. The membrane is formed from urethane or polyurethane and only has to be put once as it lasts for the life of the home. You won’t have to fix or redo the membrane for several decades at the least. No water can go through the elastomeric membranes and they're not affected by chemical vapors or other gases. This type of waterproofing membrane costs more than the other choices.

It's fast and easy to put on an elastomeric membrane and it will dry quickly. All you need is a paintbrush and a roller. You don't have to reinforce the membrane and although it's expensive, it'll save you a lot of money in the long run because it won’t have to be replaced. If your basement has suffered serious water damage, you should consider putting in elastomeric membrane in the basement. If you have mildew issues that are causing allergy problems, the membrane is also recommended.
